About the client

The role of commercial fleet drivers in the delivery of goods and services to customers is crucial. Their vehicles play an important role in ensuring the efficiency of their operations. When unexpected vehicle breakdowns occur, quick recovery is essential.

UPTIME addresses this challenge by connecting towing (and related) industries, ensuring efficiency and transparency to reduce downtime for fleet drivers and idle time for service providers.

Challenges

Before Uptime, drivers, fleet managers and service providers communicated through phone calls. Events and payments were manually recorded in spreadsheets, leading to a slow and difficult tracking process.
Our goal was to revolutionize the process with a centralized platform. We aimed to streamline communication, automate processes, and enable real-time tracking for improved efficiency. At the same time, we aimed for a seamless and user-centric experience through intuitive design and careful consideration of user scenarios, especially for fleet drivers.

The Solution

We designed two mobile apps, two web portals, and one super admin portal for the Uptime fleet company.

Driver App

Using this app, drivers can easily initiate service requests. They can also conveniently track the status of their assigned service provider. This enhances transparency and efficiency in the process.

Service Provider App

Equipped with our mobile app, service providers can efficiently locate drivers' position. They can also provide documented proof of work by capturing pictures after resolving the issue. This ensures effective service and accountability.

Fleet Manager Portal

Using this portal, fleet managers can monitor and manage fleet-related activities effectively. They have access to detailed event and payment records, enabling data-driven decision-making and optimizing fleet management processes.

This portal empowers companies with streamlined capabilities to track and manage event records, payments, and communication. It facilitates effective collaboration and enhances overall operational efficiency.

Through this portal, Uptime's staff can ensure smooth processes for all companies. They can keep track of events, payments, and other related information to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.

The Process

The first step was to understand the entire process and business objectives. Detailed research was conducted to identify the problems and scenarios users may encounter (especially fleet drivers). Our next step was to create an information architecture, design wireframes, and then develop high-fidelity designs. We kept in touch with the client throughout the design process to get their valuable feedback.
