About the project
EscapeCloud is a sophisticated software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution specifically tailored for financial institutions, providing seamless and automated cloud exit assessments compliant with european banking authority (EBA) and national regulatory bodies' requirements. Our solution empowers financial institutions to effectively leverage cloud service provider outsourcing while ensuring robust development of cloud exit strategies and plans.
The client approached us to redesign their existing dashboard page for EscapeCloud, aiming to enhance consistency and usability. Subsequently, we were entrusted with designing the rest of the product. Our objective was to reimagine the platform with a user-centered design approach, prioritizing the needs and experiences of its users
The challenges
Key challenges identified during the project:
Lack of visual appeal: The pages didn’t look professional enough for pitch decks and whitepapers, making it hard to impress investors.
Overcomplicated design: The MVP design was too complex, making it difficult for users to navigate and understand complex compliance regulations quickly.
Reliance on manual processes: Users relied heavily on manual workflows, which were time-consuming and inefficient.
Vague workflows: Workflows, such as running assessments, requesting approvals, and downloading reports, were unclear, leading to inefficiencies.
Overwhelming data: Data-heavy sections, like radar charts, risk categorizations, and resource inventories, made extracting actionable insights difficult for users.

Streamlined project creation flow: To simplify the complex process of creating a cloud exit assessment project, we designed an intuitive and easy-to-navigate workflow.
Optimized dashboard with actionable insights: We developed an enhanced dashboard that provides a clear overview of project statuses and associated risks, enabling users to access all relevant metrics at a glance.
Customizable settings: We simplified the process of updating regulatory frameworks and compliance settings, making it easier for users to manage their configurations effortlessly.
Optimized onboarding: We designed a simple, user-friendly onboarding process to ensure a smooth experience for newly invited users.
Improved navigation: We enhanced navigation throughout the product, ensuring users can seamlessly move between pages and access information with ease.
Unified design system: A consistent and cohesive design system was implemented to deliver a seamless and visually harmonious user experience.
The process
User research
We began by conducting stakeholder interviews to understand the users, their pain points, and their goals. Based on these insights, we created user personas to organize and represent user information effectively.
